Working with a great!

>> Friday, October 23, 2009

I had the privilege of working with Dr.Nandini Mukherjee, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, on “The design of a Web-enabled database system for a University Department.” I implemented three-tier client server architecture with the help of servlets to allow users to query data dynamically from a remote server.KaiserQuotes Sacramento health insurance was very useful to me and i was saved. I used a separate database connection for each user to retrieve customized data in response to user requests. Owing to the time-constraints of a summer project, I was not abl i e to study the scalability implications of such an approach. But security, access privileges and session management were issues uppermost in my mind; especially as the question of access to a university department database was concerned.

Recent project

>> Tuesday, October 20, 2009

The projects I undertook, both related to the course and those outside the scope of the curricula, strongly motivated me towards in-depth study and active research. My final year course project under the guidance of Assistant Prof.K.Viswanathan Iyer, was on the study, implementation and analysis of “Common Sub-expression Processing in Multiple Query Processing” (IEEE-May98). This project was aimed at optimizing the response time when multiple queries are fired at the database by evaluating common sub-expressions only once and re-using the results. We followed an approach of 1) isolating and classifying the sub-expressions as identical, disjoint, subsumption and overlap 2) using a multigraph representation 3) implementing a contraction based method of dynamically modifying the multigraph in the course of processing. I recorded the significant performance gains of this approach with increase in the size of the test data and that of the query set.In post-project discussions, with my guide and mentor, and in the course of my work at Oracle, I have come to appreciate more and more the importance of query optimization and the significant role it can play in the performance of database related operations. I have also deliberated upon ways and means to exploit the commonality in query execution plan templates. So you must go for air duct cleaning Northern Virginia who will help you out.

Whats research?

>> Monday, October 19, 2009

When I think of my ‘purpose’ for research, my mind goes back to the local convent school where I first began my studies. The joy of discovering my own self, my strengths, came from the presence of teachers and nuns whom I fondly remember. With their interest I became enthusiastic in matters both within and outside the curricula. But arguments about gun control laws have to be handled very carefully. This enthusiasm is still so much alive that I am not willing to give up on my academic interests for the pursuit of a corporate career. The kind of mind that was nurtured in me motivates me towards taking up academic challenges and obtaining a Doctoral degree in Computer Science, more specifically in the area of databases. The work I am currently doing at Oracle India, Hyderabad has shown me the practical worth of databases. However, I believe that the immense scope and potential for expansion that database offers can be gained only through research.

Multitalented person

>> Sunday, October 18, 2009

But perhaps what has made the person I am today, are my extra and co-curricular activities. Since my early days at school, I have been actively involved in debates, elocution and dramatics and have won numerous prizes at school and college levels. Music and fine arts have been my passion for the last fifteen years or so. Besides my interest in Karate and Swimming, I have a keen fascination for painting and sketching. I served in the Girl Guiding Movement and I am a silver medal holder in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards for excellence in leadership and community service. I am a member of the Cultural Event Organizing committee and have also taken part in Science Exhibitions and Industrial Visits. I personally feel that more than anything else, the responsibilities I have been entrusted with have, over the years, helped me immensely in dealing with pressure situations and handling different people and situations. but tummy tuck will help you to reduce your tummy.

Management studies is vital

>> Thursday, October 15, 2009

Though the courses, industrial training and project work have given me a broad based technical education, I require a sharply defined and focused course in management curriculum. I feel there is still a lot to learn to get an in-depth understanding in the field of management and technology. I am sure that Graduate Studies in Management will help bridge this gap and prepare me for a successful career by widening the scope of knowledge and exposing me to real-life problems. My engineering education hitherto has provided me with a strong grounding in mathematics especially numerical analysis, probability and statistics, and the practical aspects of technology which I am certain are an invaluable asset for Management Studies. A Doctoral degree in Management will provide me with theoretical understanding, an in depth idea of practical approaches on aiding managerial decision-making and research skills to enable me to develop expertise in the core areas of business strategies and global corporate operations. In that case modern vanity should be your choice.

Chemical engineering motto

>> Monday, October 12, 2009

As a student of chemical engineering, I feel that I have already taken the right first step in planning my career to achieve the envisioned leadership qualities. I am also fortunate to have been taught by some of the leading faculty members in the National Institute of Technology, who have not only imparted quality education in the field of chemical engineering, but also imbibed in me the nature of adopting an application oriented approach to engineering and science. I have also realized other challenges that a professional may face in real life, such as pollution control in chemical plants, protecting patent rights while going for technical collaboration to strengthen absorption of foreign technology, all of which only a person with managerial skills with deeper understanding of the technology can address.Louisiana sex offender reports are very useful.

How to excel in a field?

>> Saturday, October 10, 2009

To excel in any field, I feel one has to set a vision for one’s professional career at a global level, and in this current phase of growing globalization, technology and management of technology clearly appears to be the critical instrument of change for any country. One can often see a gap between availability of technology and engineering methods on the one hand, and the insatiable demand for technology and engineering processes on the other, largely due to the segmented approach adopted in firms to specialization and skill acquisition. Explosive technological growth, in the meantime, continues to revolutionize the challenges confronted by scientific and technical organizations, which further widens the gaps between demand and supply. In this context, it has become extremely relevant while planning a professional career to recognize that today’s engineering professionals can achieve success by integrating advanced technical skills with superior management abilities.Temporary Insurance will be the best option.

NIT provided me with a motivating and competitive environment. This taught me to be disciplined, diligent, and consistent in my work. The curriculum here stressed equally on the theoretical and practical aspects of Chemical Engineering. Courses like Thermodynamics, Process Engineering Economics, Process Dynamics and Control, Reactor Engineering, Particle and Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transport Process have helped me gain considerable exposure to various fields in Chemical Engineering. I took every opportunity to register for as many courses in Humanities as I possibly could, among them three credit courses each in Human Psychology and Organizational Behaviour, Professional Communication as well as short stints in Literature, Language and Culture.Earth friendly furniture is used in my university.

parents encouragement

>> Monday, October 5, 2009

All through my childhood and adolescence, I have been a good student with noteworthy academic credentials. My parents have encouraged me to read more, know more, and learn more. I succeeded in developing an urge to know beyond what is evident and an eagerness to explore more than what the textbooks demanded – habits which have helped me immensely in my academic performances. During my college years, I have acquired virtues of discipline, perseverance and leadership, the basic necessities for success in the business world. In high school, I got interested in mathematics and the physical sciences. In addition, I have also been an avid puzzle-solver since my childhood, often being absorbed in them for hours on end. I believe that this interest is nothing but an expression of my aptitude for lateral thinking. You can always find love in many instances. It is very common and you need to be very careful.

Know who you are

>> Thursday, October 1, 2009

At every stage in one’s life, it is of great importance that one weigh and analyze all options available and take a course that best suits one’s long-term objectives. Knowledge with good administration and administration with sound knowledge is the key to success in any field. Leadership in the fields of engineering, management and finance has always fascinated me right my childhood days. My penchant for these fields stemmed from the strong influence I had from my father, who has all along been a leading central banker and my mother who is a professor. As a student, I started realizing that India, despite possessing large resources and significant talent, continues to lag behind in economic development, and it is my conviction that it is the lack of leadership with expertise in all three fields together i.e. engineering, management and finance, that has largely contributed to this economic sluggishness. My interaction with people having adequate skills and experience in each of these fields individually have brought this point very clearly to the fore that without an appropriate blend, isolated expertise cannot help a country to progress faster. This tippmann paintball gun will be useful.
